Rostov on Don Guests
GKC are playing host to guests from Rostov on Don, the Russian city twinned with Glasgow. The visitors have a packed programme during the three weeks that they are in Glasgow meeting with their counterparts here in Glasgow Kelvin and UWS and having a chance to take in some of the cultural sights. They had a busy day yesterday with a meet and greet at our Springburn Campus and a tour to see what our curriculum offers, a lunch at our Easterhouse Campus, provided by our hospitality students, and then finishing off their day with the Electric Honey gig at Oran Mor. This weekend they hope to visit the Trades House to view students work at Craftex and take in the Degree Show in the West End ….
… cake too. Glasgow Kelvin College, by invitation of Glasgow City Council Lord Provost’s Office, were commissioned to bake a cake for one of the many celebrations for this year’s delegation from Russian to mark the 30th Anniversary of the successful twinning with Rostov on Don. We knew they were coming so we baked a cake:-).
Students from our ESOL course attending their annual picnic enjoying some lovely food and taking part in a “toss the wellie” competition. They also enjoyed a special ‘K’ cake made by one of the group.
Have a great weekend…..let’s hope it stays sunny:-)
